Unit and Continuous

SAERCO is a provider of Unit and Continuous Training certified by the National Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) to offer the training required to obtain and maintain the unit and rating endorsements associated with the EU air traffic controller licenses.

SAERCO develops and implements the training and unit capacitation plans needed to train and maintain the aptitudes of operations personnel.

The Unit Training to obtain a license in the EU, including rating endorsements and unit endorsements, involves the collaboration of professors, instructors and evaluators duly accredited and authorised by AESA.

Unit training plans are custom designed to meet national and international codes and supervised by personnel who are competent to certify their validity and practicality.

These plans are based on previously established procedures and schedules to provide the required training in the most appropriate manner.

They also contain all of the elements of the aptitude evaluation system, including work methods, evaluation, review of progress and reporting procedures to EASA. Both the transitional training prior to on-the-job training (OJT) and the OJT itself, either by simulation or with real traffic, are designed and implemented according to the requirements from a formative and operational point of view.

The Continuous Training (refresher and emergencies) to keep the EU licence endorsements current involves the collaboration of professors, instructors and evaluators duly accredited and authorised by AESA.

They also contain all of the elements of the aptitude evaluation system, including work methods, evaluation, and progress review as well as reporting procedures to AESA.

SAERCO is firmly committed to training as one of the fundamental pillars that support service quality and safety. Therefore, the continuous training not only complies with the minimum requirements but actually exceeds them in order to keep the knowledge levels of operational personnel and those involved in operational safety very high.

SAERCO provides continuous training, designing training programs tailored to the needs of its customers in relation to:

  1. Refresher training
ESARR 5 requires air traffic controllers to take periodic refresher courses to maintain their operational competency. Refresher training is designed to review, reinforce or increase their knowledge and skills, including teamwork skills.
  2. Emergency training
This training is imparted to control personnel at least once a year as a rule and includes training in how to handle emergencies, unusual situations and degraded systems, since many controllers work for long periods of time without experiencing situations of this type.
  3. Conversion training
Focused on providing the right knowledge and skills when there is a change in the controller's category (new rating endorsement), new or modified procedures are introduced as well as other changes or improvements to the system.
